5 ways to improve a small bathroom

Having a small bathroom can be frustrating, particularly for larger families. However, there are things you can do to ease the burden. Addington’s, Northamptonshire’s bathroom design specialist, has some helpful tips to help you make the most of the space available to you.

1. Store

Creative methods of storage can provide space for all those shampoo and shower gel bottles, keeping them out of view and making the room look less cluttered.

2. Combine

If space is at a premium, try combining certain units. Installing a shower unit over a bath gives the best of both worlds, while under-sink storage room reduces clutter and keeps the room tidy.

3. Change

Changing minor details can make all the difference to a small room. New taps or sink units can drag a dated room into the 21st century, while something as simple as a new loo seat could provide the catalyst to carry out further improvements. Alternatively, try replacing a single row of tiles at the top or in the middle with something abstract. You never know where it might take you.

4. Reflect

An age-old trick, but a good one – use well-placed light sources and multiple mirrors to create the illusion of a much larger room.

5. Light

Softer light can be more flattering – try incorporating a frosted glass lightshade to offer a more balanced light which can make the room appear less harsh. Alternatively, you could consider spotlighting, which Addington’s can install to add a modern, contemporary feel to your bathroom.

However you plan on improving your bathroom, Addington’s can help. Our design team has experience delivering quality bathroom projects, large and small, across Northamptonshire. Get in touch to see how we can help.
